My Driving Lessons Part 1/4

I learned how to drive in the early 1990′s back in Pohnpei State Micronesia. Despite that, I never really took driving seriously and so did not had any intention of getting a driver’s license. The last time I drove a car was when I had my vacation in Pohnpei State last year on Jan/Feb, when I visited my parents for 3 weeks. I did enroll in a driving lesson company few years back to acquire a student’s permit but I never really applied for the actual driver’s license. Only until recently did I thought of getting one but I had to apply for a student’s permit first. This is just a video of my driving lesson with our driver, Kuya EddieBoy. From Acropolis we were going to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Shaw Blvd in Mandaluyong City to apply for a student’s permit. Mandaluyong City, Philippines February 21, 2008

Learning To Drive ? Top Tips To Help Pass With Flying Colours

Learning to drive is a big step in people’s lives, being able to drive opens up new opportunities for new jobs as well as being able to travel to further afield destinations. The process of learning to drive can be a bit daunting to learners though as being in charge of a large machine and the amount of different tasks you need to do at once, such as gear changes, braking, turning can all be a big ask for someone who has only ever been the passenger in the car.

There are a few tips for when it comes time to learn to drive whether you are under 21 or later on in life; learning to drive should be no problem as long as you follow the following tips.

Study for the theory test as you learn to drive The theory test needs to be passed before you can even book your proper test, so make sure you read the Highway Code and familiarise yourself with the road signs and rules for situations such as overtaking, turning and emergencies such as a breakdown. There are computer programs and websites that can help you via videos or mock tests which should help you get used to the questions you’ll be asked in the real exam.

Learn at whatever pace is most comfortable Some drivers learn quicker than others, whereas some may be slower to pick up details such as complicated manoeuvres. Typically you should have a two hour lesson each week to get the most benefit, if you need to learn to drive quickly then multiple lessons per week can help you learn quicker, as well as build up your experience. Many driving instructors offer discounts on multiple lessons booked in advance.

Practice outside of lessons Anyone over 21 who has held a licence for 3 years can supervise you when you are driving, preferably you should choose someone who has lots of driving experience such as a parent or a responsible friend. You need to make sure the supervisor is responsible as a friend may encourage bad habits which can make you a dangerous driver.

Practice under test conditions on the lead up to your test Having lessons that are designed to feel like the actual driving test is vital, much like practicing your theory test if you practice taking the exam then you are more likely to be prepared and not be as nervous when the exam day rolls around.

If you’ve recently passed your test or are looking for your first car then consider car loans or car credit deals which could help you afford a good quality, safe car to drive.

Concerts Always Drive People in a Frenzy!

Before coming to your next concert event, before you slam your body with other bodies and before you have a nasty concert experience, here are some of the tips for you. It is important before going to a concert to fuel up and pack within before you rock without. Before rocking, you have to eat well. You have to have some energy for your mosh pit activities. You also have to hydrate yourself because we know that you’ll be sweating and you woudn’t want to faint. It is also important to hydrate especially if you will be taking in some alcohol, you need to get down with water.

In starting a fundraiser concert, finances are of course important. Above all, the point is raising funds, not losing them or just giving a free show. So we have to consider a bunch of do’s in setting up out own concert. First is, start small by having a small concert. The artist fee should be as low as possible because you will be spending also on the other logistics. You should also check if the fee for the artists is required before the day of the concert or after the concert. This will allow you some room to make adjustments on the accounting and ticket sales.

Now, we will deal with other financial concerns. You must generate an ad revenue which is equal or approximately equal to the projected ticket sales. You must also generate an online count of tickets sold and ad generated. This way you would know if you are doing well or not. It is also a great idea to put up donations boxes. You must strategically place them in entrances, food stands, along the hall and other entry points. By doing this, additional funds and also the audience will be reminded of the cause of this concert.

One of which is the artists fee. The reason why we shouldn’t have expensive artists is because we are trying to avoid lots of internal discussions and detailed planning on how to make enough profits. Keeping it low would enable us to focus on why we are raising fund. We wouldn’t want a concert that has profits way less than the expenses. We won’t go through the whole process of organizing a concert if this is so.

Maybe at one point in our lives we have dreamt of organizing our own concert. Usually the idea of having your own concert would be for a cause or a fundraiser concert. Don’t let it remain a dream because you can achieve it only if you really want to achieve it. Don’t let that dream die and I hope that this blog would help. In the next entries, we will present some tips and advices on starting your own fundraiser concert. Everything has to start somewhere and a fundraiser concert has some certain guidelines we should follow as framework.

Concerts are usually jam-packed and when you get nearer the concert stage it gets wilder. If you don’t want you toes to be murdered, don’t wear footwear that would expose your delicate toes. I went to a concert once and I wore sandals, and lesson learned, my toes were murdered. Also, we should wear something that wouldn’t hurt us if it gets dirty or damaged due to the stomping in concerts. Or, if you still decide to wear your white sneakers, you can put it on display for proof that you went to that concert. Better, just show them concert battle scars (murdered toes).
